On Saturday night, a 4-year-old boy was found dead in a neighborhood pool after an hours-long search was underway between Louisville Metro Police and neighbors trying to search.
Aazam Dahir, age 4, was reported missing around 8 P.M. Saturday night in the area of Richiewayne Drive, close to Smyrna Parkway in the Highview neighborhood.
Police said Dahir was autistic and non-verbal.
Louisville police were joined by nearly 100 neighbors in the search effort.
Louisville Metro Police Department issued a Gold Alert, which helped spread the word about the search through media notifications, social media and the LENS alert system.
LMPD patrol officers, the Missing Persons Unit, K9 teams, the air unit and drone unit were all searching.
Just before midnight, Dahir was found in a nearby pool and later pronounced dead.
