A man was hospitalized after he was found badly burned Monday evening in Bardstown.
Around 8 p.m., Bardstown Fire Department crews responded to a report of an explosion and person laying on the ground at the 400 block of S. 6th Street, according to a social media post by the department.
Crews on scene found a man with second-degree burns on approximately 50% of his body. Firefighters reported the fire was already out.
The man was transported to UofL Hospital’s trauma center in Louisville, according to the agency.
“Foul play was not suspected. The patient was lighting something and the vapors from the flammable liquid ignited all at once,” Bardstown Fire Department said in a social media post.
