A Louisville Metro Police officer is accused of lying about the hours he worked, and is facing charges.
A department spokesperson said LMPD’s Public Integrity Unit started investigating Ofc. Roberto Grider after they found concerns related to the accuracy of his reported work hours.
Louisville Metro Police Department placed him on administrative reassignment in March.
The Commonwealth’s Attorney presented the case to a grand jury, which indicted Grider on two charges: official misconduct and theft by deception over $1,000 but under $10,000.
After that indictment, the Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson said they began the termination process for Grider.
The department spokesperson said Louisville Metro Police Department takes matters of integrity seriously, and maintaining the public’s trust through transparency remains a top priority.
