Louisville Metro Police say a suspect has been charged in connection with the May 1 shooting death of a 74-year-old man.
Officers responded to the 3200 block of W. Kentucky Street around 5:40 p.m., according to LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell.
When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot multiple times. Officials said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Jefferson County Coroner later identified that man as 74-year-old Wade Ramey.
LMPD’s Homicide Unit said Friday that 47 year-old Match Gudger, who was already in custody at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections, has been charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Police said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
