A 55 year-old Vine Grove man was arrested Thursday night on charges related to child sexual abuse material.
The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested Gary Eugene Middleton II around 10 p.m. as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.
The investigation resulted in a search warrant at a residence in Vine Grove on May 21, 2026. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to Kentucky State Police’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.
Middleton is currently charged with ten counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under 12 years old. These charges are Class-C felonies, punishable by five to ten years in prison. Middleton was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center under a $50,000 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 29.
