Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office officials say a head-on vehicle crash left one person dead and several hospitalized.
According to a press release, deputies were dispatched to a head-on collision Sunday around 2 p.m. near the 5000 block of Stagecoach Road.
Officials say a preliminary investigation shows one vehicle was traveling south on Stagecoach Road. The vehicle entered the lane of a vehicle traveling north, which led to both vehicles crashing head-on into each other.
The passenger of the vehicle traveling south, later identified as Lucian Townsell, was pronounced dead on scene by Hopkins County Coroner.
The driver of the vehicle traveling south was severely injured and transferred to an out of state hospital for treatment.
Officials say the driver of the vehicle traveling north and their six passengers were all taken to out of state hospitals for further treatment for serious injuries.
