Shively Police arrested 45 year-old Kevin Moore after his truck crashed into a TARC stop on Monday.
Court records reveal Moore admitted to being drunk when the crash occurred at the intersection of Dixie Highway and Rockford Lane.
In his arrest citation, Moore admitted to driving the truck but said “the accident was not his fault even though he was drunk due to him consuming alcoholic beverages.”
Shively Police say five people were waiting at the bus stop during the time of the incident.
One woman, who was waiting for the bus, died at the scene of the crash.
On Tuesday, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified her as 43-year-old Danielle Cordes.
Four others were injured in Monday night’s collision, including two women who sustained life-threatening injuries after being hit by Moore’s black Chevy Silverado.
According to the citation, Moore told responding officers that he drank tequila an hour before the crash.
One Shively Police officer noted a strong smell of alcohol on his breath and noticed that he was uneasy on his feet and often came close to losing balance and falling over.
Moore also refused to take a field sobriety test and instead asked officers to take him to jail, according to the citation.
Court documents show Moore previously pleaded guilty to DUI in 2014.
He is currently being held at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections, and is expected to appear in court for arraignment on Wednesday, May 27.
