A former Bullitt County deputy jailer was arrested Friday after he was accused of sexually abusing inmates and engaging in misconduct while working at the Bullitt County Detention Center.
Bryan Whittaker, jailer for the Bullitt County Detention Center, said Antonio Robertson was arrested Friday following an investigation into misconduct.
According to the arrest citation, Robertson allegedly forcefully grabbed a female inmate and kissed her while working at the jail.
The arrest citation also accused Robertson of providing notes to inmates that were “against departmental regulations” as well as threatening to hurt the spouse of another inmate he had a relationship with at the time.
Whittaker said he was made aware of the incidents Wednesday and contacted the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office, leading to Robertson’s arrest.
Robertson is charged with two counts of sexual abuse, two counts of promoting contraband, two counts of official misconduct and one count of terroristic threatening.
He was immediately terminated from his position as deputy jailer.
