Two people are in the hospital after a house fire in east Louisville.
Anchorage Middletown Fire & EMS crews responded to a call at around 3:05 p.m. of a house fire in the 3400 block of Sasse Way on Sunday, May 31.
At the scene, first responders found smoke coming from the two-story home.
Crews entered the home and quickly put out the flames, containing the fire to the laundry room where it started.
Officials say three adults were in the basement during the fire, and stated that they heard a loud noise coming from upstairs before they evacuated the home prior to crews arriving at the scene.
Two of the residents were taken to the hospital for observation due to minor smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
