At least one juvenile has confessed to vandalizing headstones at an Allen County cemetery, according to investigators.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Office responded to damaged grave sites at the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church cemetery located at 3940 Old Gallatin Road on May 2.
Deputies found about 25 headstones had been pushed over.
A church representative explained that it was going to cost around $250 to $300 to reset each stone.
Later on, Deputy Wade Knox obtained information about multiple juvenile subjects being responsible for the damage to the grave sites.
One of the juveniles has confessed to their involvement in the crime. That juvenile has been cited and released to a parent. The case was sent to the Court Designated Worker.
The case plans to stay open in an attempt to locate and charge others involved in this crime.
