Motorists are advised that the next traffic pattern shift is about to begin as construction continues at the intersection of Shepherdsville Road and Ring Road in Elizabethtown.
Depending on favorable weather and concrete pours reaching required curing levels, the Transportation Cabinet’s district office said traffic is expected to be placed into a one-lane roundabout Monday night.
When the roundabout pattern is implemented, the intersection signal will be turned off.
Each direction of Ky. 251 and Ring Road will be reduced to one lane upon approaching the intersection. The one-lane configuration is a temporary pattern until a full roundabout footprint is constructed.
During this phase, crews will be working in the center of the circle and in the middle of all four approaches.
The crews will be in close proximity to traffic. Motorists should pay very close attention to work zone signage, workers and equipment.
The Ring Road roundabout portion of the Ky. 251 widening project is scheduled to be complete by August 1, according to officials.
