A Jefferson County man is in jail charged with multiple sex crimes involving a juvenile.
Talvin D. Petty, 34, of Shively, was arrested June 10 and faces multiple felony charges including first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse, possession/promoting a sexual performance by a minor and video voyeurism, according to a Louisville Metro Police citation.
The citation says a juvenile told a detective that Petty had touched her sexually while she slept and described incidents from ages 15 to 17. Police uncovered during their investigation images and videos on Petty’s phone, including recordings that appeared to show the girl asleep as sexual acts occurred.
Petty was taken into custody.
Police say at the time of his arrest he injured officers while they tried to put the cuffs on him.
He was lodged in the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.
