
A 24-year-old man is in custody after a shooting at the Texas Roadhouse in Okolona, according to Louisville Metro Police.
Officers responded to a call at around 6:11 p.m. of a shooting at the Texas Roadhouse at 3322 Old Outer Loop on Thursday, June 11.
At the scene, officers found a man who had been shot and began providing aid until medical crews arrived. The victim was taken to UofL Hospital by EMS and is expected to survive.
Friday morning, Louisville Metro Police Department announced the arrest of Ronald Winter. He is charged with second-degree assault and is currently being held in Bullitt County Jail.
According to the arrest warrant, an employee of Texas Roadhouse saw Winter attempt to leave without paying for his meal. The employee confronted Winter and grabbed his arm.
Police say that is when Winter reached for his waistband area and the employee attempted to tackle him to the ground when he heard a gunshot.
The employee was shot in the shoulder. He was able to describe Winter, who fled in a red Ford Ranger according to multiple witnesses and surveillance footage, according to police.
Winter was found by the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office with a black handgun with a shell casing in the chamber.
The Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is leading the ongoing investigation.
