
Louisville Metro Police say an adult man is in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning near 9th Street and Broadway in the Russell area.
According to Louisville Metro Police Department, officers were called out shortly after 4 a.m. and found the victim in a nearby parking lot in the 600 block of Roy Wilkins Avenue. Officers provided first aid until Louisville Fire and EMS arrived. The man was taken to University Hospital with injuries described as critical and life-threatening.
Police said information gathered during the investigation indicates the driver of an unknown vehicle may have struck the victim intentionally. Because of the victim’s condition and the circumstances, LMPD’s Homicide Unit responded and took over the investigation.
No suspects have been identified. Anyone with information is asked to call LMPD’s anonymous tip line at (502) 574-LMPD (5673) or submit tips through the department’s online crime tip portal. Police also ask anyone who was in the area and may have captured video on a phone or surveillance camera to share it with investigators.
