
One person is dead after a house fire in the Clifton Heights neighborhood Tuesday morning.
Louisville Fire Department responded to a reported fire in the 2700 block of Chickasaw Avenue just after 3 a.m. on June 16 with a report of one person still inside the house.
Firefighters arrived within four minutes and were able to find and remove the person inside, but they were pronounced dead at the scene.
The fire spread to a neighboring house, but the occupants were able to escape safely. The house had extensive damage to the attic, according to Louisville Fire Department.
Louisville Fire Department Chief Brian O’Neill said the house where the fire started was a “total loss.”
One firefighter was hurt as crews worked to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
