A man was arrested by the Leitchfield Police Department on Thursday, June 18 after Leitchfield Police investigated allegations of sexual assault of a minor that were reported during an unrelated call for service.
According to police, 42-year-old Christopher Hayes was arrested for Rape, 1st Degree, Sexual Abuse, 1st Degree, and Assault 4th Degree.
Through investigation it was found that Hayes had engaged in sexual intercourse and deviate sexual acts with a juvenile over 50 times over the course of several years. The suspect admitted to the acts that were alleged and was placed under arrest after his admission during an interview at Leitchfield Police Department.
This investigation is ongoing and police say they believe additional charges will be sought. Further information may be released as evidence is confirmed. Further details of this investigation may not be released to protect the identity and out of respect for any victims involved.
Hayes was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center without bond.
