Christopher Dubey, 36, has been arrested in the Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood, after officers say he was allegedly involved in a fatal stabbing that began with a “person down” call in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Just after midnight, officers responded to the 13900 block of Blakely Lane, just past the Valley Station area, and found a victim who had been stabbed multiple times. Despite life-saving efforts by officers and EMS, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to court documents, the victim was identified as Dubey’s father. The name of the victim has not been released.
Investigators found that the victim’s vehicle, a tan Chevy Impala, was missing and located it in the 1700 block of Bonnyville Blvd in the Pleasure Ridge Park area. Police say the vehicle was running and had large amounts of blood inside. The investigation led officers to an apartment believed to be connected to the case.
SWAT intervened when a suspect was found barricaded inside the apartment. After a several-hour standoff, SWAT used a ‘chemical agent,’ and the suspect surrendered without further incident. A large amount of blood, a knife with suspected blood, and bloody clothing were found in the apartment, according to the court filings.
Dubey was lodged in the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections and is charged with murder.
