A deputy from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office attempted to pull over a red SUV just after 2 a.m. Thursday, July 10, after noticing the vehicle had one headlight out and failed to stop at a stop sign.
While approaching the vehicle, 32 year-old Zackary Threlkel sped off from the Deputy traveling northbound on Cave Springs Road.
While pursuing the vehicle, the Deputy noticed Threlkel failed to stay in the lane he was traveling in, driving on the wrong side of the road and even running off the road.
The driver also disregarded curves and drove in the middle of the road at high speeds.
The pursuit continued toward Felts Cemetery, where Threlkel turned around and attempted to return to U.S 68 East, but came to a stop.
He stopped on River Road and Felts Cemetery Road, reversing into the Deputy’s patrol vehicle and surrendered without further incident.
In plain view, the vehicle contained two empty fireball shooters, as well as three full ones.
A white straw with suspected drug residue inside it was also found as well.
