A 62-year-old man is facing 35 years in prison for charges related to a double shooting in 2024.
Kevin Powell entered a guilty plea Tuesday on charges of second-degree manslaughter, assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
He also pleaded guilty to one count of being a first-degree persistent felony offender.
Powell then admitted in court that on November 17, 2024, he shot and killed one and injured another at the Club Cedar bar.
In a press release, Louisville’s Commonwealth attorney said Powell would only be eligible for parole consideration after serving 85% of the 15-year sentence he received for second-degree manslaughter.
