Officials intercepted a package earlier this month at the Port of Louisville containing millions of dollars in counterfeit watches.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized the package July 9 at Worldport, according to a news release.
The package contained 200 counterfeit watches with a combined manufacturer’s suggested retail price of over $28 million, had they been legitimate. Officials said the watches bore “suspected Audemars Piguet trademarks.”
Customs and Border Protection officials said the package was headed from Hong Kong to Illinois.
This is the second shipment of watches Louisville Customs and Border Protection officers have seized in a little over two weeks. On June 30, they seized a shipment containing 375 counterfeit Audemars Piguet watches, with an MSRP of over $54 million.
