FEMA announced that more than $27 million will be given to Kentucky for disaster recovery efforts.
FEMA has said they will reimburse affected communities for costs associated with 86 projects around the commonwealth.
The approved funding is through FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
The specific projects listed include:
$9.5 million to the Kentucky Department of Transportation to repair or replace public roads and bridges.
$5.3 million to Pennyrile Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation to repair utilities.
$2 million to Perry County to repair or replace public roads and bridges.
1.6 million to Pike County to repair or replace public roads and bridges.
$1.1 million to Laurel County for emergency protective measures and to repair or replace public roads and bridges.
$985,000 to the Kentucky Department of Parks to repair and restore parks and recreational facilities.
The announcement said FEMA remains committed to supporting Kentucky’s recovery and resilience, working closely with state and local partners to help communities rebuild stronger for the future.
