A six-month-old child abducted from West Lafayette, Indiana, was safely recovered in Louisville Thursday night, according to officials.
During the West Lafayette Police Department’s investigation, police learned the child and suspected kidnapper were on a bus heading to Louisville. Louisville Metro Police, specialized task force personnel and SWAT then prepared for the bus’s arrival at the Greyhound Bus station.
The bus arrived around 10:15 p.m., and officers safely recovered the child and took the suspect, 22-year-old Jasmine O’Sullivan, into custody, according to the release.
The child was taken to Norton Children’s Hospital as a precaution and was then reunited with her family.
The FBI responded and assumed custody of O’Sullivan, who is facing a federal kidnapping charge.
The investigation is ongoing.
