A man wanted for attempted murder and kidnapping was arrested after the U.S. Marshals Service said he was hiding out in Louisville.
Tyler Mack, 32, was arrested on Monday, August 3, as part of a joint operation between U.S. Marshals Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
U.S. Marshals tracked Mack’s movements and conducted a take down operation after positively identifying him in an area of interest through an extensive fugitive investigation, according to the Marshals Service.
Mack was wanted on multiple warrants after police say he and 25 year-old Ariana Meriwether forced their way into a Madison County home on May 23, 2026.
Mack allegedly took the homeowner’s adult children upstairs at gunpoint, hitting one of them in the head with a pistol and making one of them wait in the closet “under threat of death,” according to court documents.
Court documents allege that Mack fired six rounds at someone attempting to flee the scene and struck their right arm.
Meriwether turned herself in in June 2, 2026, and was charged with attempted murder, attempted robbery, burglary, assault and kidnapping.
Mack was charged with attempted murder, first-degree burglary, first-degree attempted robbery and kidnapping in connection with the May 23 incident, and was later charged with felon in possession of a firearm in relation to a separate incident on July 24, 2026.
On July 24, Lexington police were notified that Mack was residing at a house in Lexington and that he had a firearm.
According to Lexington police, Mack had left the house before police could execute a search warrant. Officers allegedly found a firearm and suspected fentanyl after searching the home, as well as a Cash App Visa debit card with Mack’s name and a paper check made out to Mack.
