A Marion County Schools teacher and high school band director was arrested Monday on 17 counts of sexual abuse involving students.
Kentucky State Police said 34 year-old Adam McRay, of Lebanon, is accused of having sexual contact with at least two students.
McRay was a teacher with Marion County Schools and the band director at Marion County High School when the alleged offenses happened, according to Kentucky State Police.
The investigation started in late May, when the Lebanon Police Department asked Kentucky State Police to look into the allegations.
The case was presented to a Marion County grand jury August 6, which indicted McRay on 17 counts of first-degree sexual abuse.
Kentucky State Police said a detective served McRay with the indictment Monday at a home in Marion County. He was arrested and taken to the Marion County Detention Center, where he is currently being held on a $20,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing. Kentucky State Police said additional charges could be filed in other counties.
