Three Louisville teens are facing felony charges after a late-night incident in Cave City, according to a Kentucky State Police arrest citation.
The citation states that just after midnight Tuesday, troopers were called to the Five Star gas station on Doyle Avenue, where a clerk reported three masked teens in a silver 2015 Kia Optima who paid $10 cash for gas and then walked off toward Highway 90.
Investigators say the Kia had been stolen earlier in Louisville and driven to Cave City.
When a trooper spotted three males near Wall Street and turned on his lights, he says they took off running into a thick, overgrown area and tried to hide, according to the citation.
A trooper found two of the males under brush, and a drone located the third. Troopers identified the three as 18-year-old Jailenn Harvey, 18 year-old James Hughes and 19-year-old Davis Edwards-Butler.
All three are facing nine charges, including receiving stolen property more than $1,000 but less than $10,000, first-degree criminal mischief and fleeing or evading police.
All three were taken to the Barren County Detention Center.
