Around 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning, Hopkinsville Fire Department and EMS responded to a single-vehicle accident involving ejection at the intersection of Novadell Way and Fort Campbell.
A caller reported that the 20-year-old driver, who was the only occupant, had been ejected and was pinned underneath the vehicle.
Crews arrived within minutes and confirmed the presence of the driver under the vehicle.
Firefighters and EMS personnel worked together to remove the person from the vehicle, while simultaneously initiating treatment interventions.
Air medical was requested to the scene, and once the driver was extricated, they were flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee with critical injuries.
