A 17-year-old was charged with murder after a man was found dead at McNeely Lake Park in Louisville last month.
Bilal Mbeirick, 32, was found shot to death just before 12:30 p.m. August 1 at the park off Cooper Chapel Road, Louisville Metro Police said at the time.
Thursday, Louisville Metro Police Department said a 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged with murder in connection with Mbeirick’s death. The teen also faces charges of first-degree robbery, possession of a handgun by a minor, tampering with physical evidence and receiving a stolen firearm. Because the teen is still a minor, he will not be identified.
Police said that while an arrest was made in the case, the LMPD Homicide Unit’s investigation is ongoing.
