An Ohio man was transported to Barren County on Friday after he was arrested on September 4 on multiple charges involving an alleged sexual relationship with a minor in Barren County.
Matthew David Campbell of Amelia, Ohio was taken into custody on September 4 in Clermont County, Ohio.
The arrest comes after an investigation alleged that Campbell traveled to Barren County on multiple occasions between May and July of this year and engaged in illegal sexual activity with a minor.
The investigation began after the child’s mother reported information to the Barren County Sheriff’s Office in early August.
Campbell is charged with two counts of first degree unlawful transaction with a minor, procuring or promoting the performance of a minor by use of electronic means, promoting a minor in sexual performance, second degree unlawful transaction with a minor, and second degree sodomy.
The investigation remains ongoing.
