
A two vehicle accident in Barren County claimed the life of one driver and injured two other people just after 7 a.m. Wednesday (09/16).
A preliminary investigation by the Kentucky State Police indicates a black 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, operated by 18 year-old Brock Lykins of Glasgow, was traveling north on Scottsville Road (31E). Lykins lost control of his vehicle, crossing the centerline. Lykins’s vehicle collided with a red 2006 Pontiac G6, operated by 40 year-old Martin Hernandez.
Hernandez was pronounced dead on scene. A passenger in Hernandez’s vehicle, 21 year-old Adrick Ward of Glasgow, was airlifted to TriStar Skyline Medical Center. Lykins was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital, where he was be treated for his injuries.
Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Barren County Sheriff’s Office and Barren County EMS. The investigation is ongoing by the Kentucky State Police.
