A Louisville man was arrested Wednesday nearly a month after police say he terrorized two people, threatening to shoot them and refusing to let them leave.
Steven Deloney, 45, is facing the following charges, according to court documents:
Two counts of unlawful imprisonment (first degree)
Two counts of wanton endangerment by discharging a firearm (first degree)
Convicted felon in possession of a handgun
Assault (second degree)
Terroristic threatening
On August 26, Deloney was in a vehicle with a man and a woman, traveling to his residence. One of the victims expressed multiple times that she felt uncomfortable and wanted to exit the vehicle, but Deloney wouldn’t let her leave, according to his arrest citation.
When they arrived at Deloney’s residence, he reportedly reached into the vehicle, took out the keys, and ran into his house, preventing both victims from leaving, according to authorities.
After he returned outside, the victims told police he became angry and pointed a handgun at both of them before firing one round into the ground. He then pressed the barrel of the gun to the forehead of one of the victims, leaving a mark due to the barrel still being hot after the round was fired.
The victims were able to flee and police were notified. Investigators were able to determine Deloney’s identity and he was arrested on September 23. Deloney is a convicted felon out of Hardin County.
Deloney is being held at Louisville Metro Department of Corrections on a $75,000 bond. He is expected back in court for a preliminary hearing on October 2.
