A formal local announcement for a new steel facility to locate in Brandenburg was held Tuesday (9/14) afternoon.
Local leaders and officials welcomed Eddie Kane Steel to Brandenburg as company officials plan to build a new $4.8 million steel processing facility on 19 acres along Mooreman Road in Brandenburg. The facility will be located next to Lynn’s Pins. The company will bring approximately 25 new high quality jobs with pay $33 an hour plus benefits.
The Brandenburg location will serve as a critical hub for the company, which produces and distributes hot-rolled carbon steel plate. Operations at Eddie Kane Steel’s first Kentucky facility will include the distribution and processing of carbon and alloy steel plate.
Company President Gus Kane, said he is excited to further the working relationship with Nucor Steel and to expand the company. Founded in 2000 and headquartered in New Jersey, Eddie Kane Steel currently employs more than 150 people at seven facilities located across Alabama, California, New Jersey, North Carolina and Ohio.
During his comments, Kane said that he plans to work on upgrades to the bowling alley to keep it open and available to the community.
