An Elizabethtown man out for a morning run was struck by a passing car on the U.S. 31W Bypass at College Street Road Friday morning.
According to the Elizabethtown Police Department, 54 year-old Derrick Dennison was on the southbound shoulder of the bypass when he was hit and the driver did not stop.
Elizabethtown police said the car was described as a dark-colored, mid-size vehicle. Elizabethtown police are seeking information about the wreck. Any witnesses or anyone with additional information is asked to call 270-765-4125 or Hardin County Crime Stoppers at 800-597-8123.
Dennison was transported by Hardin County EMS to Addington Field and then airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville where he was treated and released later Friday, according to Elizabethtown police spokesman Virgil Willoughby.
