Two people are dead after a house fire in Powderly early Monday (10/19) morning.
Dispatchers received a the call of a fire in the 400 block of East Main Street just before 3 AM CT. Three fire departments arrived on the scene to find the structure fully involved. Fire crews worked several hours to extinguish the flames. Crews remained on the scene until the afternoon.
The Muhlenberg County Coroner identified the two people as 44 year-old Jared Whirley and 50 year-old Chasity Whirley. Foul play is not suspected in the fire.
