Saturday evening Cave City Police received a report of an armed robbery in progress at Cave Country Beverages, on the corner of Happy Valley Street and Louisville Road.
The officer arrived at the scene and found 21 year-old Matthew Howe of Cave City being detained at gunpoint by employees of the store.
Police say Howe had attempted to rob the business at knife point, when the employees were able to disarm Howe and detain him until officers arrived.
Howe was arrested without incident and lodged in the Barren County Jail for Robbery, First Degree.
