
Radcliff police responded to a report of gunshots near 2515 Hilltop Circle around 4:25 p.m. Tuesday. Witnesses described hearing and seeing seven or eight gunshots fired from the front passenger window of a blue 2010 Mercury. The shots were aimed in the direction of several children playing basketball in the area.
According to police, one person was struck on the leg with non-life threatening injuries. Six other individuals nearby were placed in immediate danger of serious physical injury or death.
After the shooting, witnesses told police that the car sped away.
Officers located a vehicle matching the description headed west on State Street near the intersection of Atcher Street when they initiated a traffic stop around 10:30 p.m.that night.
Keon Rashad Anderson, 18 of Radcliff, was driving the vehicle with a juvenile in the front passenger’s seat. Police did not release the name or age of the juvenile who has also been charged in the case.
Anderson and the juvenile were taken into custody. The juvenile was arrested on charges of fleeing or evading police and possession of a handgun by a minor.
Anderson is charged with complicity to commit attempted murder, first-degree wanton endangerment and a probation violation.
Attempted murder is a Class B felony punishable by 10 to 20 years in prison, if convicted. First-degree wanton endangerment is a Class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison, if convicted.
Anderson is being held in the Hardin County Detention Center in lieu of a $75,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in Hardin District Court at 9 a.m. Friday.
