
A Sunday morning roll-over crash along North Logsdon Parkway in Radcliff has resulted in a felony assault charge against the driver when a passenger in his vehicle was injured.
Jeffrey McCord, 20, was arrested after leaving the vehicle and was found walking away from the crash scene. According to McCord’s arrest citation, he had a strong odor of alcoholic beverages on his breath, blood shot eyes, unsteady on his feet and admitted to being drunk.
The wreck happened around 2 a.m. McCord was driving a 1998 blue Pontiac and was heading north when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a sign and rolled over several times.
A male passenger in the vehicle received various injuries, including a serious injury to his right shoulder.
He is charged with second-degree assault, a Class C felony punishable by five to 10 years in prison, if convicted, as well as, first offense driving under the influence of intoxicants and leaving the scene of an accident or failure to render aid.
McCord is being held in lieu of a $50,000 cash bond in Hardin County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. Friday in Hardin District Court.
