
Two traffic stops led to 2 drug arrests in 2 different counties Friday.
Kentucky State Police Trooper from Post 2 pulled Jonathan R. Ruby, age 36 of White Plains, over for speeding and reckless driving in his 2003 Pontiac on Highway 189 South, about a mile south of Greenville.
During the stop, the Trooper saw methamphetamine that was not hidden inside the car. After searching his person, Kentucky State Police found Ruby was carrying meth on him as well.
Ruby was taken to the Muhlenberg County Detention Center and charged with speeding, reckless driving, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a controlled substance (1st degree 1st offense).
Also, two Kentucky State Police troopers pulled over a 1989 Toyota pickup truck on E. Church Street in White Plains for reckless driving and not being able to see their license plates.
The driver, 51 year-old Bobby V. Johnson of Lewisburg, had methamphetamine, scales, pipes, marijuana, prescription pills and a large sum of cash which was all seized by the troopers.
Johnson was taken to the Hopkins County Detention Center and charged with not having a legible license plate, reckless driving, trafficking a controlled substance (1st degree, second offense greater than 2 grams of methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance (1st degree, 1st offense, drug unspecified), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
