Officials are offering up to a $25,000 reward following the shooting of a mail carrier on his route Wednesday (2/10) morning in west Louisville.
The shooting happened about 10:35 a.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of Dearborn Avenue.
The postal worker made his deliveries on foot, but his van was nearby. Louisville Metro Police won’t say if the worker was shot while in his van or on foot, but it appeared bullet holes could be seen in the van’s window.
LMPD was joined by ATF and the US Postal Inspections Service as this is a federal crime.
The victim was shot multiple times, but a MetroSafe dispatcher said he was alert and conscious when emergency crews arrived.
He was taken to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment for what appeared to not be life-threatening injuries.
The homicide unit was called to investigate.
So far, there are no suspects in the case, according to Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell.
Anyone with information about this crime should call the LMPD tip line at 502-574-LMPD (5673).
