A teacher at Fern Creek High School was arrested Saturday on suspicion of sexually abusing a student.
Samuel Lee Barrett, 27, is accused of touching a student inappropriately, according to an arrest report. A Jefferson County Public Schools spokeswoman confirmed that he is a teacher at Fern Creek.
Barrett was booked into custody at Louisville Metro Corrections early Saturday morning on four counts of first-degree sexual abuse.
Jefferson County Public Schools said Barrett will be reassigned to a non-instructional role outside the classroom during the investigation. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
