Charges against a man accused of shooting and injuring a Louisville mail carrier on his route have been dismissed, and attorneys have requested a motion to dismiss charges against his brother.
A judge ordered Marcus Bennett released by a signed motion. He faced federal charges in connection to the February 10 shooting of a postal worker on Dearborn Avenue.
He was accused of being in the car with his brother Eric Bennett when the shooting happened about 10:30 a.m. on February 10, but court video shows him at the Jefferson County Judicial Center at 10:23 a.m. that same day.
Eric Bennett, who’s accused of pulling the trigger, is seen on the court tape at 11:24 a.m., less than an hour after the shooting.
