A two vehicle accident just west of Leitchfield Saturday (4/23) afternoon claimed the lives of four people and injured one.
A 1998 GMC Sonoma pickup driven by 18 year-old Dylan Fleener of Leitchfield was traveling west on KY 54 about 1.5 miles west of Leitchfield when for unknown reasons his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 1995 Ford F150 pickup head-on driven by 88 year-old Christine Walton of Falls of Rough.
Two passengers in Fleener’s vehicle, 42 year-old Thomas Davis of Radcliff and 18 year-old James Vincent of Leitchfield, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Grayson County Coroner’s Office. Christine Walton was also pronounced dead at the scene.
Dylan Fleener was transported by ambulance to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center where he died that evening from his injuries.
Another passenger in Fleener’s vehicle, 18 year-old Nicholas Sawyer of Leitchfield, was airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital by Airmethods with serious injuries.
The road was closed for several hours as Kentucky State Police reconstructed and cleared the scene. The accident remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
