Clark Smith was indicted Thursday by the Barren County grand jury for the death of Kristen Edwards.
He will be facing charges of murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence in Barren Circuit Court Monday.
His preliminary hearing originally scheduled for Tuesday has been canceled.
In a court document released Monday, police said Smith admitted to killing Edwards before disposing of her body and personal items.
Edwards body was found inside a tote bag on the Green River on July 23 in Hart County.
Her date of death is listed as July 14, at EP Terry Estates in Cave City. It is the apartment complex where Smith lived next door to Kristen Edwards’ grandmother.
Kristen knew Smith and went inside his apartment at times to use his computer according to her grandmother.
A judge has set Smith’s bond at $1 Million.
