A Leitchfield man died in an early Tuesday (11/22) morning accident near the community of Duff.
The accident happened around 4:40 am CST in the 1400 block of Duff Road. Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck down an embankment and with heavy damage. According to the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department, 47 year-old Ike Jarboe of Leitchfield was traveling south on Duff Road. Jarboe came to an uphill curve. For unknown reasons, the truck left the roadway and began driving down an embankment where it struck a tree, flipping the truck at least once coming to rest about 100 feet down an embankment.
Jarboe was not wearing his seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene by assistant Grayson County Coroner Larry Holeman. The Leitchfield Fire Department and Grayson County EMS assisted at the scene.
