A Brandenburg man was injured after a two vehicle accident in Brandenburg Tuesday (12/20) afternoon.
According to Brandenburg Police, the accident happened around 12:30 pm at the intersection of Broadway, Old Ekron Road, and Lakeview Drive. A 2016 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 77 year-old Joseph Argabright of Brandenburg, had just pulled off of Lakeview Drive, when he was struck in the back by a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 69 year-old Sandra Rustin of Brandenburg. The impact into the rear passenger side of Argabright’s car caused it to veer into a utility pole across the intersection.
Argabright was treated at the scene and taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown by Meade County EMS for his injuires. Rustin refused treatment at the scene.
Brandenburg Police was assisted at the scene by Meade County Sheriff’s Department, Meade County Fire Department and LG&E. The roadway was closed about a half hour. Traffic on Broadway was restricted to a single lane as crews from LG&E replaced the broken pole Tuesday afternoon.
