
Breckinridge County emergency crews responded to two accidents Tuesday (1/02) night.
The first accident happened around 10:15 pm CST in the 11,000 block of East Highway 60, when a 1993 Mercury driven by 34 year-old Andrew McGary failed to navigate a curve and ran off of the roadway. McGary was treated at the scene and taken to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital by Breck Central EMS. The Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Irvington and Hardinsburg Police and the Irvington Fire Daprtment. Speed is a factor in the accident and the investigation remains ongoing after the roadway was closed about 45 minutes.
A second accident happened a short time later around 11 pm CST in Hardinsburg at the intersection of Seventh and Sixth Streets. A 2013 Dodge Charger driven by 18 year-old Jackson Faircloth of Hardinsburg failed to negotiate the curve and ran off of the street. Faircloth and a male juvenile passenger were taken to University of Louisville Hospital for serious but non life threatening injuries. A 17 year-old female passenger was taken to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital for non life threatening injuries. Hardinsburg Police was assisted at the scene by the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Department, Breck Central EMS and the Hardinsburg Fire Department.
