Several people were taken to the hospital during the New Year holiday period in Meade County.
On Friday (12/30) morning around 11 am, emergency crews were called to the intersection of the Bypass and Fairgrounds in Brandenburg after a two vehicle accident. One person was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital by Air Evac and a second person was taken to University of Louisville Hospital by Meade County EMS. The accident caused the roadway to be closed about an hour as the Meade County Sheriff’s Department, Meade County Fire Department, Kentucky State Police assisted the Brandenburg Police Department at the scene.
A second two vehicle accident happened just after 9 pm Monday (1/2) on US 31W near the airfield at Fort Knox. Three people were taken to the hospital for their injuries. The Meade County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Meade County EMS, Muldraugh Fire Department, Hardin County Ambulance, and Fort Knox. One lane of traffic was closed about hour as crews cleaned up the scene.
