A mother and another man have been arrested after a body was discovered behind a Owensboro home.
Owensboro Police Department were called to the 800 block of Breckenridge Street Saturday (1/28) afternoon on a report of a body being found in the back yard of the property owner. Police identified the body to be 30 year-old Jose Breydi Gomez. Officers believe the body had been deceased for several days.
Upon further investigation, detectives believe Gomez was struck by a piece of wood, causing his death. As the investigation unfolded, 52 year-old Yolanda Gomez, mother of Jose Gomez, was charged for tampering with physical evidence.
Salvador Avila-Navarrete, 46, was charged with manslaughter and tampering with physical evidence.
Both were lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.
