A Glasgow man was arrested Wednesday after attempting to rob a hotel.
An employee at the Comfort Inn at 210 Cavalry Drive said a white man around 5’11” tall and weighing 200 pounds came into the hotel and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk didn’t give the man money, so the suspect threatened to shoot him and kicked him in the face and left the hotel on foot.
Glasgow Police Department arrested Richard Bartell and charged him with Robbery 1st Degree, Public Intoxication, and Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree.
Officers were then called to the report of property damage at Day’s Inn and found that Bartell had been staying at there.
A set of car keys belonging to a car stolen out of Bowling Green was found in Bartell’s room.
Bartell was additionally charged with Receiving Stolen Property and lodged in the Barren County Jail.
