The Muldraugh City Council hired a new police chief during a special called meeting Monday (12/3) night.
With all council members present except for Shelia Cowins, the council approved the safety committee recommendation of hiring Jason Graham as the city’s new police chief. Graham comes to the city of Muldraugh with over 22 years of police experience and has served as chief deputy the past several years at the Meade County Sheriff’s Department.
In other business, the council tabled any action on bids for roof repairs and replacement on the city hall building. The council opened a sealed bid from Five Star Commercial Roofing Inc, but tabled the item to allow time to collect further details related to the bid.
The council also voted to have a lease agreement with the option purchase for the property at 702 Dixie Highway which is owned by the city. Council members want the agreement drafted for their review before taking further action to move forward on selling the location to the current tenant.
Muldraugh City Council is expected to meet during their next regular monthly meeting on Monday, December 10 at 6:30 pm.
