
Members of Meade County Fiscal Court met during their regular monthly meeting Tuesday (12/14) night.
No comments from the public were made, as magistrates discussed the alteration of Old 60 Lane. The court unanimously voted to closed the short section of the road at Hog Wallow to allow the property owner to install a fence to prevent vehicle traffic. The court approved the documents to add the former gas plant parcel of land to the Nucor project.
Magistrates approved a proposed pilot program developed by the County Planning and Zoning Commission to handle property complaints. Magistrates discussed the need for a joint a work session to finalize details to full implement the program. Fiscal Court approved adjusting the pay scale for planning and zoning commission for the new program. During a recent meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission, a new cellular tower for AT&T was approved at 3705 Battletown Road. The court approved the commission’s recommendation to approve a rezoning request along Highway 79 across from Turner Road from A2 to R-1 for a proposed subdivision.
Fiscal Court approved the appointments of Deborah Gibson to the Planning Commission, Dr. David Hamilton to the County Board of Health, Carol Fackler to the Extension Board for Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Charlie Wilkins for the Extension Board for 4H Youth Development. Magistrates approved a resolution to transfer a Max pack bailer from the Solid Waste and Recycling Center to Hardin County for trade of a trailer at a equal value. They also approved updates related to the insurance in the personnel policy and E911 EMS regulations and Operations.
Meade County Sheriff Phillip Wimpee presented his 2022 Budget of $1,937,400. The budget reflects disbursements of $1,934,000 with $3,400 of excess fees to be turned over to Fiscal Court. County leaders set the 2022 Holiday schedule for the county offices. The court opened two bids for a new ambulance at a cost at Least $146,568 pending full inspection of the bid by the EMS management. The court voted to seek additional bids for the E911 Center addition project after receiving only one bid which was no opened and will be held until the second bidding process is complete.
Industrial Authority Chairman David Pace asked county leaders for funds for a secretary and new water line to be installed along Kentucky 933 for future industrial property. The county’s cost of the water line is 33,000 with the Industrial Authority and City of Brandenburg splitting the remainder of the cost.
Fiscal Court met during a 35 minute closed session to discuss personnel matters, to return with no action.
